Dear Fellow Rotarians,

As we step into the month of May, I am filled with gratitude and pride for the remarkable strides we have continued to make across our district. Indeed, this Rotary year is drawing steadily to a close, and the energy, commitment, and passion demonstrated by every one of you reassure me that we will finish strong.

Our journey through the past weeks has been both impactful and inspiring. The Women in Rotary Conference stood out as a resounding success, boldly affirming that our women are not only taking centre stage but are also making powerful statements in service to humanity. I commend the leadership of PP Omolara Akinsanya and her team for delivering such an outstanding event.

We also came together in solemn reflection during the Service of Songs for late Mrs. Oluwakemi James, beloved wife of our District Executive Secretary. I sincerely thank all Rotarians for the overwhelming show of love and support during this difficult time. May we continue to uphold the family in our thoughts and prayers, offering comfort and strength.

Capacity building remains at the heart of our growth. The Global Grant Training equipped our members with the knowledge and tools needed to craft winning proposals, enabling us to execute bigger and more impactful projects. Similarly, the Club Leadership Learning Seminar prepared our incoming leaders for the responsibilities ahead. I warmly congratulate DGE Bukola Bakare for successfully convening such a valuable and enriching program.

Our commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders was evident at the District Rotaract Conference, which I had the privilege to attend. I commend the District Rotaract Representative and the entire team for a successful and inspiring conference. In the same vein, the District Interact Conference was a well-organized and enlightening gathering, thanks to PP Bukonla Alamu and her dedicated committee. These platforms continue to strengthen the future of Rotary.

We also celebrated generosity and service at the World’s Greatest Meal, an innovative initiative to honour our highest donors to The Rotary Foundation. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all attendees for their generous contributions to the PolioPlus Fund and to the team led by PAG Kola Okunola for organizing such a meaningful event.

During the month, I had the privilege of visiting five clubs, further strengthening our bonds of fellowship. A major highlight was the Charter Certificate Presentation of RC Alagbado Urban. I congratulate the new club and welcome them warmly into our Rotary family.

On a personal note, I deeply appreciate the support of Rotarians who travelled to Ondo State to attend the burial ceremony of my late father, Chief Felix Akinnifesi Akinyele, your presence, prayers, and kindness gave our family immense comfort, and I remain truly grateful.

I am also pleased to share that our star project, the construction of a dedicated facility for the Rotary Peace College is nearing completion. However, we still require the support of Rotarians and friends to make this project commissionable before the end of the Rotary year. I humbly seek your continued support to bring this vision fully to life.

As we approach the final stretch of the Rotary year, I urge all Rotarians to intensify efforts in membership growth and contributions to The Rotary Foundation. Let us remain focused and determined, we must finish well.

Finally, I invite you all to prepare for an unforgettable experience at our Royal District Conference, commencing this week. It promises to be educative, engaging, and fulfilling. I look forward to welcoming each and every one of you.

Together, let us continue to serve with passion and purpose as we continue to Unite For Good

Yours in Rotary Service,

District Governor
