The official visit of the District Governor, Rotary International District 9111, Rtn (Prince) Henry Akinyele, to the Rotary Club of Okota on Saturday, November 15, 2025, commenced with a symbolic tree-planting exercise at Isolo General Hospital, Lagos.

This initiative reflects the club’s unwavering commitment to “Preserving the Environment”, one of Rotary International’s seven key areas of focus.
Led by the United President, Rtn Kingsley Chijioke, the club also advanced its economic empowerment programme by donating brand-new grinding machines to two indigent women in the community, giving them the tools to begin or grow their small businesses.

In further demonstration of service to humanity, the club donated a mower to Ijeshatedo Junior Grammar School to support seamless grass-cutting operations and help maintain a safe and conducive learning environment. This continues the club’s longstanding tradition of supporting the school with impactful projects over the years.

The District Governor was warmly received by club members, including the Chief of Staff to the DG, PAG Busola Satuyi, who is also a proud member of the club. The Assistant Governor, Rtn Francis Opute, was also in attendance to support the visit.

A day of service, sustainability, and empowerment, truly reflecting the Rotary spirit.
