
Rotary International District 9111, on Thursday, May 1, 2025, held World’s Greatest Meal, a global initiative for a polio-free world. World Greatest Meal is an event where Rotarians and friends come together to dine while raising funds for polio eradication.

It was a day of laughter, wining and dining all with the common goal of raising funds towards making the world polio-free. The event also showcased a display of our rich culture, traditional attires and food.
The event had not only Rotarians in attendance but also their friends who all contributed towards eradicating polio from the face of the earth.
The pioneer District Governor, Dr Oluwole Kukoyi in his remarks noted that the district’s contribution to polio so far this Rotary year is not impressive while encouraging the Rotarians to contribute more.
The Chairman of the District World’s Greatest Meal Committee, PP Salau Rasaq also urged Rotarians and non-Rotarians to contribute to the cause.
The District Governor, other district leaders, Rotarians, Rotaractors and guests present including the spouse of the Chairman of the Committee all made generous contributions while the DG in addition to his personal contribution also contributed $100 as gift contribution in the name of a Rotaractor who serenaded the district leaders with eulogy.
The Chairman of the District Polio Committee, Rtn Jide Ogunjimi also gave a talk on Polio.
Present at the event were District Governor Elect (Prince) Henry Akinyele, Past District Governor Omotunde Lawson, Past District Governor Patrick Ikheloa, District Rotaract Representative Saka Oriyomi, members of the committee and the Resource Person, PAG Anthonia Taiwo.
District Governor Nominee Bukola Bakare was ably represented by Past Assistant Governor Kate Wilke.
The event was also graced by Rotarians from Rotary District 9112 which includes 9112 DGE, Rtn Lanre Adedoyin.
The Master of Ceremony, Rtn Oyinlola Sale got the attendees glued to their seats with an educative question and answer games session. Rtn Sale and the Fundraiser, AG Felix Nwangu were not left out in the contribution to the polio eradication purse.
