Rotary Clubs of Abeokuta, Abeokuta Metropolitan, Oke-Ona Egba, Abeokuta Royal, Abeokuta Prestige, Obantoko, Rock City, Laderin hilltop, Ibara GRA, Elega and Oke Mosan Golden In collaboration with Junior Chambers International, JCI Abeokuta Hills, JCI Abeokuta and JCI Rock City just held a Peace and Conflict Resolution Seminar with the theme ‘Alternative to Conflict Resolution and Peace Building’.
The seminar which held on Friday, February 28, 2025 featured a panelist session which had in participation a religious leader, Pastor Matthew-Fatai Akinbola of C&S movement who is also a retired journalist, one time Vice Chairman of Ogun State Nigeria union of Journalist and current Registrar, College of Broadcasting, Abeokuta; Mr Gabriel Oni,a mediator for Ogun state multi door court house across Ogun state.
Also participating in the panel discussion was a lawyer Chief Kayode Aderemi,a penchant for human rights and the Ogun State Police PRO SP Omolola Odutola who delved deeply into the conversation centered around resolving conflict via alternative dispute resolution technique.
Speaking on the event, the President, Rotary Club of Abeokuta Metropolitan, Rtn Abiodun Ogundaini stated, “Alternative dispute resolution to solving conflicts has been more effective than usual and has proven to be more important to our community at large hence the need for the clubs in Egbaland to organize a collaboration with JCI organizations in Abeokuta to enlighten the general public about the essence of alternative dispute resolution.”
