The District Governor of Rotary International District 9111, Rtn Bukola Bakare, commenced her official visits to clubs across the district with a visit to her home club, Rotary Club of Ikeja GRA, on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

To mark the occasion and demonstrate Rotary’s commitment to maternal and child health, the club donated delivery kits to expectant mothers at the Maternity Ward of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ayinke House.

The donated items included sanitary towels, baby wipes, baby diapers, and cotton wool.
For many families, these simple items mean comfort, dignity, and hope at one of life’s most precious moments.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the hospital, Social Welfare Officer Mrs. Shittu K. Abiola expressed sincere gratitude, assuring the club that the items would be distributed to pregnant women who need them most. She noted that the gesture would go a long way in easing the burden on many mothers and their families.

This is the heart of Rotary, showing up, giving selflessly, and reminding people that they are not alone. As District Governor Bukola Bakare begins her journey across Rotary District 9111, her first official club visit set a beautiful example of service above self, proving that every act of kindness has the power to change a life.
