
The pioneer District Governor, Dr Oluwole Kukoyi on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, commissioned a new high-capacity solar power system installed by the Rotary District in Police Hospital, Lagos State Command, Area F, Ikeja.

The solar power system which is funded by the district grant is worth about N8million and is such that can be increased to a higher capacity as demand increases.
With this highly impactful project, the Rotary district aims to provide a long-lasting solution to the power outage challenges facing the hospital.
The Medical Director, Police Hospital, Lagos State Command, Area F, ACP (Dr) Abosede Salami, during the commissioning ceremony, expressed her immense gratitude to the Rotary district for the “continuous commendable commitment to service, not just to the Nigeria police force but to the entire society”.


She stated that the project will go a long way in providing succour to the about 30, 000 police officers in Lagos state that the hospital caters for.
“You won’t believe how much what you have done for us has impacted the hospital positively”, she said.
Also present at the commissioning ceremony is the District Governor Elect, Prince Henry Akinyele, District Governor Nominee Bukola Bakare and District Governor Nominee Designate Samuel Ayetutu.

Also present was the District Grant Committee Chairman, PDG Patrick Ikheloa, Chief of Staff to the DG, AG Sylvia Abdalla, Special Assistant to the DG, AG Kunle Adeniran, Personal Assistant to the DG, AG Abiola Adesina, the Project Coordinator, PAG Ezinne Obioha, Captain of Irresistible Presidents Jide Ogunleye, 2025-2026 District Learning Assembly Coordinator, PP Funke Salau and other Rotarians.
