The pioneer District Governor, Rotary International District 9111, Dr Oluwole Kukoyi on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, led a team of Rotarians to the Eye Foundation Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos where the Medical Director of Eye Foundation Hospital Group, Otunba Dr Adekunle Hassan was formally appreciated for collaborating with the Rotary district in the ongoing 2025 Mission for Vision project.
 
 
The mission for vision project has successfully completed over 800 free eye cataract surgeries since it was flagged off on Tuesday, 7th January with screening exercises across various centres in Ikeja, Lagos state and in Abeokuta and Ota in Ogun state, and still counting.
 
With over 2000 screened patients, the project is targeted at covering 1000 free surgeries by the time of completion in few weeks from now as it is intended to be extended to Ijebu in Ogun state.
 
 
 
 
An appreciation plaque and Four Way Test frame were presented to Dr Hassan by the DG who was accompanied by his spouse, Rev Mrs Olusola Kukoyi. She also rounded off the meeting with a special prayer for the hospital.
 
Also present with the DG were members of the DG’s core team and members of the Mission for Vision Committee led by the Chairman, PAG Jerry Aigheyisi. Dr Hassan’s daughter, Dr Feyi Hassan Oyewumi, the Vision Centre Director who is also actively participating in the Mission for Vision project joined her father in receiving the Rotarians.
