
Just before the closing of the 2025 International Assembly in Orlando, Florida yesterday, District Governor-elect, Prince Henry Akinyele, had strategic meetings with Rotary International leaders in Orlando, Florida, USA.

According to DGE Henry, “I had the privilege of meeting with Rotary International President-elect, Mário César Martins de Camargo, behind closed doors on his invitation alongside two of my colleagues from District 9141 and Pakistan, we discussed the urgent need to eradicate polio in Nigeria and Pakistan.
“President-elect Mario expressed his concerns about the rising cases of vaccine-derived polio virus in Nigeria, emphasizing that eliminating polio remains Rotary International’s top priority.
“Notably, the meeting was also attended by esteemed past Rotary International Presidents, including John Germ, Michael McGovern, and Holger Knaack, as well as Director Polio, Carol Pandak.

“This crucial meeting served as a call to action for all Rotarians to join forces in the fight against polio".
DGE Henry also stated that President-elect Mario revealed that it is time for us to give it our all and make polio a thing of the past.
He noted “This is a call for my Rotarians in District 9111. Participating in polio immunization and raising funds for this cause is part of our top agenda for the next Rotary year.
