Happy New Year, My Fellow Rotarians ๐ŸŽ‰

"Time moves slowly but passes quickly."
Just like a flash, half of the United for Good Year has gone.

We can not but thank God for his faithfulness and the impactful six months we have spent.

As we begin a brand-new year, I reflect on a remarkable first half of the Rotary year 2025-2026. Your dedication, passion, and service have made a lasting impact on our communities and contributed significantly to the modest success we have made so far.๐Ÿ™

From July to December, we have achieved so much together - impactful projects, organised new clubs and strengthened the old ones, we have contributed through our Annual, PolioPlus and Endowment Funds into our Rotary Foundation and have amplified and redefined our public image presentations across all media.

I must not fail to mention that the deletion of 200 Rotarians we experienced within November and later yesterday, is alarming and dispiriting, but we take solace that we shall work harder to regain this net loss of members and hit our 500 net gain goal.

A big thank you to our Past District Governors, District Governor Elect, District Governor Nominee, other District Leaders, my Core Team, United Presidents, Assistant Governors, and every Rotarian for your unwavering support.

As we consolidate our gains in the latter half of the Rotary Year, let us keep pushing boundaries and making a difference.
I am excited about our flagship project, The Rotary Peace College at Olabisi Onabanjo University - a beacon for peacebuilding and community development that is gaining ground. The construction of the building is ongoing, and the peace course is progressing ๐Ÿ’ช.

I therefore wish to use this medium to invite you to join me in supporting this project. Together, let us make it a hub for Rotary's ideals and a legacy for generations not only of our district but of Rotary Nigeria and beyond.

This January, our District would be receiving the Rotary International President, Francesco Arezzo, I encourage you to support the Committee and get ready to offer our usual warm welcome. It promises to be memorable.

Also, I urge you take advantage of the Vocational month to discuss your vocations and professions at your Club meetings, this is a good way to network and enhance club experience.

I am very excited about what we would deliver together in this last lap in terms of The Rotary Foundation contribution, membership, new club formation, service projects and more. Let's keep the fire burning.

Niinlolawa and I wish you a year filled with peace, joy, service, and Rotary pride.

Happy New Year to you!

Yours in Service

Rotarian Prince Henry Olubowale Akinyele
District Governor,
