
Rotary Clubs in Egbaland on Sunday, April 27, 2025 hosted the pioneer District Governor, Rotary International District 9111, Dr Oluwole Kukoyi and his spouse, Rev Mrs Olusola to a special evening of wining and dining tagged “Egba Evening with the DG”.

“An Evening with the DG” is a periodic gathering of Rotarians and their families and friends during which they wine and dine with the District Governor. The “Evening with the DG” which is usually held at the Rotary Centre in Ikeja, Lagos but the Egba Forum which comprises Rotary clubs in Egba, Abeokuta, Ogun state decided to also take the celebration to their ‘doorstep’.
Although this is not the first time Egba Rotary clubs will be hosting “An Evening with the DG, this particular celebration came with its own uniqueness.
Irresistible Presidents, Committee Chairs, Assistant Governors, Zonal Coordinators, and other district leaders took turns to share their personal experiences with the District Governor.


While many narrated their inspiring encounter with the DG both in and outside Rotary, others testified to how working with the DG in various leadership capacities this Rotary year has been seamless.
During the event, PP (Hon) Adijat Adeleye, Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development and Rtn (Hon) Jagunmolu Omoniyi, Ogun State Commissioner for Housing, both members of Rotary Club of Abeokuta were decorated as Major Donors following their contribution of $10,000 each to The Rotary Foundation.
Funds were also raised towards the completion of the DG’s star project- the Sickle Cell Centre building currently under construction in State Hospital, Ota, Ogun state as the DG reiterated commitment towards ensuring that the building is commissioned before June 31st, 2025 which marks the end of his tenure as DG.
Also present with the DG was Past District Governor Omotunde Lawson, FCAI and Personal Assistant to the DG, PAG Abiola Adesina, as well as a special guest of the DG and his spouse.
