As part of activities marking World Polio Day 2025, Rotary International District 9111 led by United District Governor, Prince Henry Akinyele hosted an exciting inter-zonal football competition on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

Organized by the District Health & Wellness Committee led by Rtn. (IPP) Nnnana Achiugo in collaboration with the PolioPlus Committee led by PAG Busola Satuyi, the event combined sports and service, raising funds to help end polio. After several minutes of intense football battle by Zones 1,2, and 3, Zone 2 successfully claimed the trophy.

Special guest and ex Super Eagles Midfielder Mutiu Adepoju, alongside distinguished Rotarians including DGN Samuel Ayetutu, PDG Remi Bello, and PDG Omotunde Lawson graced the occasion.
Each participating zone contributed $500 to the PolioPlus Fund, fueling Rotary’s global mission to eradicate polio.
