The first Public Image Seminar for Rotary International District 9111 led by pioneer District Governor, Dr. OLuwole Kukoyi held on Wednesday, October 3, 2024, at the Rotary Centre in Ikeja, Lagos.
The event brought together Rotary leaders within and beyond the shores of Rotary District 9111, Goodwill message was received from Rotary International President- Stephane Urchick and another from the Regional Public Image Chair- Ibim Semenitari which was read by the Assistant Regional Public Image Chair- Michael Effiong who also made a very insightful presentation on "Rotary Brand Centrte and Logo"
Goodwill messages were also received from District 9111 Learning Facilitator- Past District Governor Omotunde Lawson, FCAI, District 9111 Governor Elect- Prince Henry Akinyele, and District 9111 Governor Nominee- Bukola Bakare.
Chairman of the occasion, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, Executive Secretary/Chief Executive, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) who was ably represented Mrs Okparavero Victoria, Deputy Director, NICO commended the Rotary club in his address, while urging other institutions to imbibe the Rotary leadership culture as well as the Four-Way Test Principle.
Special Guest of Honour was Hon. Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode while Keynote address was made by Mr Lanre Adisa, President, AAAN & HASG. The Head of Corporate Affairs, LASAA- Rtn Tope Akande also made an engaging presentation on "Rotary and the Power of Out of Home Advertising (OOH).
Mr Austen Osokpor, Head Corporate Communications, Ecobank following his presentation on "Sponsorship" was instantly inducted as an Honorary Rotarian by the pioneer District Governor, (Dr) Oluwole Kukoyi supported by DGE Akinyele, DGN Bakare and DLF Lawson.
A special Appreciation Award was presented to Rtn Gbenga Badejo, a Past President of Rotary Club of Ikeja for his continuous support towards projecting the image of the district positively. Rtn Badejo personally sponsored a billboard promotion projecting the pioneer District Governor and the pioneer District 9111 at the start of this Rotary year. This is not the first time he is doing such as similar act has been carried out by him during the existence of the former Rotary District 9110.
Rotary Club of Ojodu was also awarded as the club with the highest number of Public Image Brand Ambassadors.
The Chairman of the District Public Image Committee, Past President Otun Olalekan and the Special Assistant to the District Governor, Assistant Govenor Kunle Adeniran were both specially celebrated on the occasion of their birthdays. The birthday ceremony was anchored by the District Governor, Rotary International District 9112, Femi Adenekan.
