Rotary Club of Abule Egba Metropolitan has just donated library textbooks to Meiran Community Senior Secondary School, Abule Egba
The text books which cuts across various subjects as well as examination past questions were presented to the school earlier today by the pioneer District Governor, Rotary International District 9111, Rtn (Dr) Oluwole Kukoyi during the District Governor’s official visit to the club.
The District Governor commended the club for the donation which falls under one of Rotary’s seven areas of focus- ‘Basic Education and Literacy’. He urged the students to make good use of the text books to improve their academic performance.
The DG however charged the club president and other members of the club to establish an Interact club in the school as soon as possible.
The School Principal, Mr Gbenga Oyediran who received the text books on behalf of the school alongside other management staff of the school appreciated the club led by Irresistible President Oladiran Saheed Titilope for the text books which he said the school had been lacking for a long time now.
The Head Girl of the school also appreciated the Rotary club on behalf of the students, noting that the donated text books which will be placed in the school library will be highly beneficial to the students, especially those whose parents cannot afford to buy the textbooks.

The club also gave out food items to widows in the community. The food items were presented to the widows earlier today by the pioneer District Governor, Rotary International District 9111, Rtn (Dr) Oluwole Kukoyi during the District Governor’s official visit to the club.
This is not the first time the club will be donating food items to widows as this has become an annual practice by the club over the years.
Every Rotary year, the club leverages on the official visit of the District Governor to celebrate the end of the calendar year with widows in the community by donating some food items to them.
This Rotary year, the club president, Rtn Oladiran Saheed Titilope is also not leaving out the widows as they all got food items and some cash as transportation support.
The District Governor while presenting the items, commended the club for the donation which is coming at this critical time when prices of food stuffs are on the high side.
