The Pioneer District Governor, Rotary International District 9111, Rtn (Dr) Oluwole Kukoyi had his official visit to Rotary Club of Agege on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
 
 
The club under the current leadership of the Irresistible Pesident, Rtn Adewale Adebiyi carried out an empowerment exercise during the DG’s visit.
5 young men and women who are skilled in various areas were supported with startup tools by the club.
 
The beneficiaries include Patience Phillip- a Makeup Artist, Wahab Sikiru- a Barber, Ajakore Suliat- a Hairdresser, Pedeyin Tolulope- a Caterer, and Ilori Rasaq, a POS Operator who in addition to the POS machine he was given, was also given a startup cash of N75, 000 by the club.
The items were formally presented to the beneficiaries by the District Governor, alongside the Club President on behalf of the club.
 
 
The club also presented to the District Governor 7 years old Aliyah Olaoye whose correctional orthopedic surgery worth N900, 000 was sponsored by the club. The club also donated a sum of N200, 000 to Aliyah’s family to support Aliyah’s recovery process.
 
Present with the District Governor who was accompanied by his spouse, Rev (Mrs) Olusola Kukoyi was the District Governor Nominee, Rtn Bukola Bakare, the District Executive Secretary, AG Valentine Shomoye, the District Treasurer, PP Adetayo Hassan, Special Assistant to the DG, AG Adekunle Adeniran, Personal Assistant to the DG, PAG Abiola Adesina, as well as the Assistant Governor to the club, Rtn Goke Olayinka.
 
 
 
he District Governor and his team were well received by leaders of the club led by the Doyen of the club, Past District Governor Oluwanisomo Omoniyi alongside Past District Governor Kennedy Ejakpomewhe and Past District Governor, (Dr) Dele Balogun who are all members of the club.
Other members of the club were also present to receive the DG and participate in the activities of the day.
 
PDG Omoniyi on behalf of the club, also presented a cheque of N1million to the District Governor as support for the ongoing Rotary District 9111 Sickle Cell Disease Centre project.
