The Rotary Club of Beckley Estate, led by its United President, Rtn. Josephima Iyama, on Sunday, February 1, 2026, carried out a series of impactful service projects in the Akute community.

The club renovated market stores, giving the floor space a fresh and appealing new look, and also provided a reliable water supply to improve hygiene and convenience within the market.
Further strengthening economic empowerment, smokeless charcoal stoves and a newly constructed kiosk were donated to selected market women, promoting safer cooking practices and supporting sustainable livelihoods.

These meaningful interventions were carried out during the official visit of the District Governor, Rotary International District 9111, Rtn. (Prince) Henry Akinyele. The District Governor commended the club for executing highly impactful projects in the areas of water and sanitation, economic and community empowerment, as well as basic education and literacy, key pillars within Rotary’s seven Areas of Focus.

Earlier, His Royal Majesty, Oba Aleeh Idowu Akindele of Akute Land, who received the Rotarians on a courtesy visit at his palace, expressed deep appreciation to the Rotary Club of Beckley Estate for considering members of the Akute community worthy beneficiaries of these transformational projects.
