
Rotary Club of Akowonjo on Monday, August 4, 2025 hosted the District Governor, Prince Henry Akinyele on his official visit to the club during which several projects were carried out.

The club under the leadership of the United President, Rtn David Amowie led the District Governor and members of his team to Little Saints Orphanage, Boys Branch in Shasha where the club donated food items to the home.
Speaking during the donation exercise, the club president revealed that the donation is an annual practice of the club in the home but this Rotary year 2025-2026, the club under his leadership will revisit the home again with more donations.


The District Governor who commended the club for making it a point of duty to donate to the home annually also encouraged the boys to be of good behavior and ensure they make the most of the opportunities they get to further their education in the home.
Mrs Famous Mayen, the Trustee for the Boys Branch, Shasha acknowledged the donation and thanked the club for always reaching out to the home.


The club also mounted a Rotary and a Nigerian flag at Akowonjo Roundabout to mark Rotary’s presence in the community.

Earlier that day, the club paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of His Royal Majesty Oba Akeeb Adebowale Rauf, Alaye Orisunmare /Agbati Kingdom who was decorated as an honorary member of the club by Past District Governor Bola Onabadejo, also a member of the club. The king was also presented with a Four Way Test customized plaque.


Also present at the visit was District Governor Elect Bukola Bakare and her spouse, Rtn Lateef Bakare.
