
Rotary Club of Apakun, District 9111 under the leadership of the Club President, Rtn Solomon Daramola has just donated food items and toiletries to SOS Children’s Home in Isolo, Lagos.

The club leveraged on the official visit of the pioneer District Governor, (Dr) Oluwole Kukoyi to the club this afternoon to formally present the donated items to the home. The Rotarians were well received by the Management team of the home led by the Program Manager.
They further enlightened the Rotarians on the components and mode of operation of the home during which one of the members of the club, Past President Samson Popoola reminded them that this is not the first time the club will be donating to the home as the club has donated to the home in different capacities several times in the past.

He stressed the club president’s assurance of further donations to the home specifically in the area of support to one of the programs in the home which involves providing grants to indigent parents in the community to assist them in giving their children quality education.
The District Governor who was accompanied by members of the core team also offered the District Education and Welfare Endowment Funds (DEWEF) scholarship to indigent but brilliant children in the home, adding that the district will further look into ways of possible collaboration between the two organizations.
Present with the District Governor was the District Executive Secretary, AG Valentine Shomoye, District Treasurer, AG Adetayo Hassan, Special Assistant to the DG, AG Kunle Adeniran, and Personal Assistant to the DG, PAG Adesina Abiola.
Other members and intending member of the club also participated in the donation exercise.
