Tuesday, April 29, 2025 will definitely be a day to remember for physically challenged children in Modupe Cole Child Care Home, Akoka, Lagos as members of Rotary International District 9111 led by the District Governor, Dr Oluwole Kukoyi shared fellowship with the children.
It was a day of celebration, affection and love as the Rotarians not only distributed food to the children and their care givers, they also donated valuable items such as pull up pants, men sanitary pads and complan.
The Chairman of the District We Care Committee, IPP Veronica Isijola while presenting the donated items to the Director of the home, Mrs Oyeniran Abosede stated that complan was included in the donation because when the DG and the We care team visited the home with Christmas donations in December 2024, the Rotarians couldn’t help but notice one of the children who looked malnourished.
Rotarians who had their birthdays between October and April were also celebrated with cutting of cake while the cake was given to the children.
There was also a ‘Talk’ on “Display of Love, Affection and Care as a Tool to Grow Rotary” which was taken by Past District Governor Omotunde Lawson, FCAI.
Special appreciation awards were also presented to DG Kukoyi and his spouse, Rev Mrs Olusola Kukoyi; the Director of the home, Mrs Oyeniran; the Rtn Guest Speaker, PDG Lawson and the spouse of the Irresistible President of Rotary Club of Omole Golden, Mrs Mayokun Ogunleye.
The event was graced by the District Governor Elect, Prince Henry Akinyele, members of the District Governor’s core team, Irresistible Presidents, members of the District Public Image Committee and members of the District We Care Committee.
