The Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) 2026 officially commenced on Sunday, August 2, 2026, as 400 young people embarked on a transformative journey to become the next generation of ethical, responsible, and impactful leaders.
The opening ceremony was made even more memorable with the presence of renowned Nigerian actor Charles Inojie and ace comedian Omo Baba no. 1, popularly known as the “Jesus” of Nigerian comedy. Their inspiring words, humour, and interactions with participants set the tone for an exciting and impactful academy.
Over the next eight days, participants will undergo intensive leadership training, personal development sessions, team-building activities, mentorship, and experiential learning designed to equip them with the skills, values, and confidence needed to lead with integrity and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
As one of Rotary’s flagship youth development programmes, RYLA continues to empower young people to discover their potential, embrace Service Above Self, and become catalysts for positive change.
The academy will run through Sunday, August 9, 2026, culminating in the graduation of 400 young leaders who are better prepared to create lasting impact in their communities and beyond.
