Rotary Club of Canal Estate has just empowered indigent widows in the community.
The club under the leadership of Irresistible President Joseph Ugwu presented three sewing machines and two grinding machines to five widows.
The presentation was formally carried out on on Saturday, November 23, 2024 by the pioneer District Governor, Rotary International District 9111, Rtn (Dr) Oluwole Kukoyi who was on his official visit to the club.
The DG while presenting the items to the beneficiaries, stated that empowerment of indigent people is part of what Rotary is known for.
He commended the club for reaching out to the widows through the empowerment project which will provide them with a means of earning daily income with which they can contribute to taking care of their families.
