Rotary International District 9111 led by the Pioneer District Governor, Rtn (Dr) Oluwole Kukoyi has just received a Rotary youth exchange student, Daniella Olayinka.
Daniella who left Nigeria on a one year exchange programme last Rotary year under the leadership of former Rotary International District 9110 on Thursday, 31st of August, 2023 returned back to Nigeria on Saturday, 10th of August, 2024 after successfully completing the programme.
During the one year period, Daniella who was sponsored by Rotary Club of Omole Golden, studied and mingled with children of her three host parents as well as other children in the community.
She learnt the culture, the language, and the lifestyle of the people, and most importantly, returned as an ambassador of District 9111 and Nigeria as a whole.
Joining the team who received Daniella at the airport upon her return back to Nigeria was the then Chairman of the District 9110 Rotary Youth Exchange Committee, Assistant Governor Uzoamaka Egbuna. She also led Daniella to the Rotary Centre to meet with the District Governor.
Daniella was presented with a gift from the District Governor and also from Rotary Club of Omole Golden for being a good Ambassador of the club and the district.
Also present were District Governor-elect Henry Akinyele, Past District 9110 Governor, Dr. Kamoru Omotosho who also facilitated the success of the trip, Past District 9110 Governor Omotunde Lawson, FCAI, Past President Akinbobola Adedayo who is the current District 9111 Youth Exchange Committee Chairman, Assistant Governor Titi Sunmonu who was also a member of the then District 9110 Rotary Youth Exchange Committee, the Irresistible President, Rotary Club of Omole Golden, Rtn Jide Ogunleye District Executive Secretary, AG Valentine Shomoye, Chief of Staff, AG Sylvia Abdullah as well as Daniella’s mother, Mrs Olayinka.
